Today was pretty much a normal day for me here, only it was uglier than usual with gray and foggy skies and some rain. I got up at 9, got ready, and ate breakfast (two media lunas, tostadas with dulce de leche, two cups of hot chocolate, and grapes). I used up the last of the dulce de leche this morning. The laundromat man had brought back my laundry before I got up. Last week, when he returned my clothes, I was missing a white tank top and I asked Fani about it and she asked the man yesterday and today it came with my other clothes. It wasn’t that big of a deal, but I was still glad to have it back. I studied all morning and completed the practice exam. It was really hard. I left for class at noon. For the first three hours of class, we went over the first 12 sentences on the practice exam. Like I said, it was really hard! We filled out evaluations for the course and profesoras (in castellano) and had our lunch break. It started raining in the middle of the afternoon and was just a really ugly day, but not too cold. After our little break at 4, we were finally done with the practice exam and divided up into groups to discuss some situations that Eugenia gave us on cards. It wasn’t very fun and we were all tired from grammar overload. The whole class basically agreed that we would do the same thing in the situation as the person on the card, just so we wouldn’t have to explain our reasoning as we would have had to if we had chosen a different option! I know, it was bad, but there is only so much technical castellano that one’s brain can take in a day! We don’t have homework other than to study for the exam. After class, I went down to talk to the people in the basement about getting a new ID card. I found out that it is 28 pesos instead of 18, so I am not sure if I am going to replace it or not. I don’t really need it unless I want to use the computers in the UB. I walked home and it was misting, but not really raining. I stopped at the grocery store and bought more bread and stopped at a kiosko to buy some caramels to help me study. I got home and Fani greeted me. I took a (really, really) cold shower. You know how your hands feel when you try to wash them with bar soap and cold water? That was pretty much my experience! I tried to pretend that I was at home playing in the hose water because of the hot weather, but it wasn’t working. Next, I pretended that I was a baby polar bear playing in a cold waterfall and that worked a little better, but that could have been because the water warmed up about two whole degrees! :) I went to my room, put my clean clothes away, and tried to study, but couldn’t concentrate because my brain was too tired. Fani fixed dinner and I ate about 7:30. I had soup, cucumbers and shredded carrots, torta de verdure (kind of like spinach kiesch), and peaches with dulce de leche. Fani must have opened a new container! I think it might be the brown cow kind because it seemed runnier, but it could have just been because of the peach juice. I guess I will find out tomorrow morning! After dinner, I went to my room and worked on the computer for a bit and then wrote this blog. Now I am planning to study for another hour and then go to bed early because our exam starts right at 9:30 and is going to be extremely hard!
