I got up at 8:30 and asked Fani about when the man was coming to pick up the laundry because she told me that Monday is the day he comes. She said that she told him to come Tuesday because she didn’t think I would have my clothes ready. I went and took a shower and then had breakfast: a factura (pastry) with dulce de leche in it, tostadas with dulce de leche, and two cups of hot chocolate. I worked on my computer for a little while typing up blog entries. I left about 11am to go to the ISA office to talk to Federico about volunteering somewhere. On my way, I bought some bread and a new phone card. When I got to the ISA office, Guillermo told me that Federico doesn’t come in until 1pm, so I called my mom and then left for class. The CEA students (from another program) were not back from Iguazú because the airlines went on strike right after we left! I guess it is a good thing we came back earlier than expected! Graciana was teaching today. We corrected our homework and went over expressions of contrast and practiced a lot. At lunch time, I stayed in the classroom and read my Bible and ate some bread and an apple. Jenny (studying here independently) came over and started talking to me. It was good to get to know her a little bit. She has been here since February! We continued with the grammar stuff after lunch until our 4pm break. After the break, we read a short story and talked about it before receiving our homework assignments. Will and I walked to the ISA office. He wanted to put his Iguazú pictures on the computer and I needed to talk to Federico. I told Federico that we might be changing the time of our class. He told me that he found an orphanage where I could volunteer. He told me to email him the new schedule for our class and then we could set it up. I am really excited! I checked my email and then I left. I walked back to my apartment. Fani greeted me and then I did my homework in my room while Fani got dinner ready. I had soup, carnalones (pasta tubes with a vegetable mixture inside with tomato sauce on top), cucumbers and shredded carrots, and flan. I couldn’t eat it all because she gives me way too much food. Fani talked on the phone to her sister and I finished my homework. Fani went to bed and I worked on uploading my Iguazú pictures. I went to bed about midnight.
