Here is a picture of the mate factory/processing plant. The mate gets dumped onto a conveyor belt from a truck and then goes into a big cylinder (that you can kind of see in the picture) where it is tumbled around and around while hot air from the furnace dries the leaves and stems. This happens a couple of times and then the leaves and stems dry out completely.
